DigiChat AV Feature: BOT Support
Available with all versions of DigiChat.
One of DigiChat's most exciting features is that it allows users to create their own BOTs. A BOT is a self contained, programmed entity that can sit in a Java chat room and respond to an outside event (a user talking to the bot, user talking to the room, someone entering or leaving a room that the BOT is in). Our new open BOT API (Application Programming Interface) describes how developers can create and package their own DigiChat BOTs. The BOT API allows for virtually unlimited additional functionality such as:
- Translate
chat messages to foreign languages on the fly.
- Deliver
the local weather or latest stock quotes to the chat room.
- Retrieve
user list and connection count for statistical purposes.
- Add interactive trivia and other games to your web site.
And
much more...
Best of all, DigiChat offers a community where these BOTs can be packaged, shared, and distributed among DigiChat users. You may submit your BOTs to our new online community bulletin board for others to check out, or download a BOT someone else has developed.
